The engineers at ARP spent quite a bit of time developing these highly effective, unique oil pan studs. They're designed to make it as easy as possible to install a pan and seal it properly. You'll note that the studs have a reduced bullet nose that serves to locate the pan rails, then allow the nuts to be easily installed without the worry of cross-threading. The stud kits come complete with a special locking flange nut.
Chevrolet Small Block

This high output pan design has a full kickout and full length tray. It is designed for cars that don’t use a stock crossmember location. The highly effective tray door system provides 100% oil control. This results in consistent oil pressure both in and out of the corners, as well as increases power output. This Late Model pan style does not have a 1/2" pipe temperature sender bung welded into the pan and a 1" inspection hole for rod check. Tig welded.

Milodon Oil Pump Pick-Ups are engineered for maximum flow and long term durability, even in the most extreme applications. All Milodon pickups use precision bent, thick wall tubing, of a larger than stock inside diameter, which are heli-arc welded to Milodon's own high flow, compact design pick-up head. All pick-up assemblies then receive Milodon's gold irridite finish.
All bungs are machined from solid billet bar stock. This yields a part that will seal perfectly to the pump inlet and have exactly the correct amount of press fit. Between these bar stock bungs and the bolt-on support brackets, there is absolutely no need to weld pick-ups into the pump.
